Green Day postpone Asia tour due to coronavirus
Green Day have postponed their entire Asian tour due to the health and travel concerns with coronavirus.
Billie Joe Armstrong, Tré Cool and Mike Dirnt were due to kick off their Asia tour at Singapore Indoor Stadium on Sunday 8th March before hitting Thailand, Philippines, Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea and Japan.
Earlier this morning (28th February), Green Day issued a statement confirming the dates won’t go ahead.
“We have unfortunately made the difficult decision to postpone our upcoming shows in Asia due to health + travel concerns with coronavirus,” Green Day wrote.
“We know it sucks, as we were looking forward to seeing you all, but hold on to your tickets we’ll be announcing the new dates very soon.”

Earlier this month, The Pixies cancelled three shows in China in February and March due to coronavirus and, more recently, metal band Testament axed their Italian tour with Exodus and Death Angel due to an outbreak there.
Green Day’s Hella Mega Tour with Fall Out Boy and Weezer is coming to the UK in June for sold-out stadium shows at Glasgow Green, London Stadium and Huddersfield John Smith’s Stadium.
The hattrick of UK shows are part of a larger European stadium trek throughout June that also takes in France, The Netherlands, Belgium, Austria and Dublin's RDS Arena on Monday 29th June. The Hella Mega Tour then hits North America throughout July and August.
Green Day’s latest studio album ‘Father of All…’ was released on 7th February and stormed straight in at number one on the UK album chart.
