The Pennsylvanian rockers have so far unleashed two tasters of their upcoming fourth studio album ‘Vicious’ – blistering lead single ‘Uncomfortable’ and live favourite ‘Black Vultures’ – ahead of the long-player’s release on Friday 27th July.

Speaking to Planet Rock backstage at Ramblin’ Man Fair, Wyatt asked vocalist Lzzy Hale and bassist Josh Smith whether they’re nervous about the reaction to ‘Vicious’.

Lzzy responded: “Yeah, it’s kind of like purgatory because you’ve kind of released something but it’s not all out there and some people have heard it. The weirdest thing… you don’t expect the worst but you prepare for the worst because it’s like you never know, you could put something out and everyone could hate it.

“But (the reaction) been like overwhelmingly positive. Still I’m like ‘where’s the catch?! What’s happening here?!’ There were even some (positive) comments on like Blabbermouth, which never happens! So, it’s like ‘what’s going on here?’ (laughs) So we’re excited and a little nervous.”

Despite the nerves, Lzzy concedes there’s nothing the band can do about it: “It’s no longer ours anymore, it’s out, it’s being released and we can’t take anything back. Now it’s here and I can’t wait.”

Watch the full interview with Lzzy and Josh at Ramblin’ Man Fair where they talk about how UK fans are “making our dreams come true”, the perks of Lzzy’s spiky leather jacket and whether their music could soundtrack a haemorrhoid cream commercial.
