Halestorm's Lzzy Hale working on music with serial hitmaker Desmond Child
"We're coming up with some great music together"
Halestorm frontwoman Lzzy Hale has joined forces with serial hitmaker Desmond Child to create new music.
67-year-old Desmond Child announced the collaboration on Instagram last night (8th February) by sharing two photos of Lzzy perched on his piano while he’s tinkling the ivories.
He enthusiastically wrote: “HALE TO THE QUEEN OF ROCK! No not me… the gorgeous and brilliant @officiallzzyhale from the band @halestormrocks.
“Lzzy is not only an incredible singer and guitarist... she is an accomplished inspired songwriter. We are coming up with some great music together. FUN!”
It’s currently unclear whether the collaboration is a Lzzy Hale solo venture, fresh Halestorm material or some other musical project.
Speaking to the Metal Sucks podcast last month, Hale confirmed that Halestorm have been working on the follow-up album to 2018’s ‘Vicious’ during lockdown.
Hale said: "We actually, just this week, ended up doing this socially distant version of getting into the studio with our producer and so we've actually begun recording. So that's exciting.
"It was a much-needed change of routine. So we're just being creative, we're putting in like 14-hour days."
She continued: "I love this new material. To get to the other side, whenever that may be, until that happens we're just going to keep trying to do what we got and yeah, come out swingin'!"
After launching his eponymous R&B-tinged pop rock band Desmond Child & Rouge in 1975, Desmond Child achieved his first smash hit in 1979 when he co-wrote Kiss’s huge anthem ‘I Was Made for Lovin' You.’
Other rock artists Child has written and co-written huge songs for include Aerosmith (including ‘Dude (Looks Like A Lady)’), Bon Jovi (inc. ‘Livin’ on a Prayer’) Alice Cooper (inc. ‘Poison’), Steve Vai, Ratt, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, Dream Theater, Jimmy Barnes, Sebastian Bach, Vince Neil, Bonnie Tyler, Ace Frehley, Meat Loaf and Weezer.
He’s due to release his autobiography ‘Livin’ on a Prayer: Big Songs Big Life’ later in 2021.
