Michael Hutchence's life being written as a screenplay.

Published 26th Nov 2012

The life story of late INXS singer Michael Hutchence is currently in development to become a film.

702 ABC Sydney reports writer Bobby Galinksy is currently working on the film's screenplay which will be called "Two Worlds Colliding,” borrowing a line from the band’s hit, "Never Tear Us Apart.”

Galinsky is basing the storyline on a book called "Just a Man - The Real Michael Hutchence", which was penned by the singer's mother and sister.

During the 80s, Hutchence was one of Australia's biggest names and INXS enjoyed multiple number 1 hits around the world.

However, Hutchence died under mysterious circumstances in 1997. Officially, his death was labelled the result of a suicide while suffering from depression while under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

No word has been released yet regarding casting, but announcements are expected to be made in early 2013.

INXS recently announced their retirement as a live band. Despite several attempts at regrouping with various singers, INXS never truly recovered commercially following Hutchence’s death.
