Speaking to the Iron City Rocks podcast to promote his Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening North American tour supporting Foreigner and Whitesnake, Jason Bonham was asked if there were any plans to reconvene with Black Country Communion any time soon.

"I believe we're gonna go back in the studio again in January,” he replied. “That's what I heard. And then we can focus more on touring next year."

"They definitely like to plan way ahead. They were looking at my schedule. I'm playing in Cabo at an event New Year's Eve, so I'm gonna be on the West Coast, so we'll probably go to the same studio we recorded 'IV' in."

‘BCCIV’ was recorded with prolific producer Kevin ‘The Caveman’ Shirley, who has helmed all four Black Country Communion albums, at EastWest Studios in Hollywood.

Commenting on their 2016 reunion, Joe Bonamassa said: “I just felt the time was right for Black Country Communion to go back into the studio and write and record a new album.

“When I contacted Glenn, Derek and Jason, they immediately agreed to give it shot. The timing was right.”

Since the release of ‘BCCIV’, Black Country Communion have only performed three headline shows; at Wolverhampton Civic Hall and London Eventim Apollo Hammersmith in January, and on the cruise ship Norwegian Jade for Keeping the Blues Alive at Sea IV in February.

All four members of the English-American supergroup are currently busying themselves with their various other projects.

Glenn Hughes is on his extensive Classic Deep Purple Live tour that calls in at Steelhouse Festival later this month, Joe Bonamassa is releasing his 13th solo album ‘Redemption’ in September and follows it will a clutch of UK tour dates, Derek Sherinian is playing UK gigs with Sons of Apollo this week and Jason Bonham is on the aforementioned Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening tour.
