Judas Priest's 'Invincible Shield' is officially their highest charting album ever

Judas Priest have debuted at Number 2 on the UK’s Official Album Chart with their 19th studio record ‘Invincible Shield.’

The legendary band’s 11-track metal tour-de-force was in second spot at the midweek stage, and Judas Priest held firm to secure the Number 2 spot today (15th March).

‘Invincible Shield’ is now officially Judas Priest’s highest charting album of their distinguished half-century recording career, overtaking the Number 4 spot that ‘British Steel’ achieved in 1980.

It’s also their fifth Top 10 record after ‘British Steel’, 2018’s ‘Firepower’ (No.5), 2014’s ‘Redeemer of Souls’ (No.6) and 1979 live album ‘Unleashed in the East’ (No.10).

With many more countries still to announce their chart positions, ‘Invincible Shield’ has already hit Number 1 in Germany and Sweden – exactly one week after Iron Maiden’s Bruce Dickinson topped the chart in those countries.

Judas Priest’s ‘Invincible Shield’ has spawned the ferociously heavy singles ‘Panic Attack’, ‘Trial By Fire’ and ‘The Serpent and the King’ plus Planet Rock playlisted anthem ‘Crown of Horns.’

After playing shows in Glasgow and Leeds earlier this week, Judas Priest continue their Metal Masters Invincible Shield Tour in Dublin tonight.

Featuring special guests Saxon and Uriah Heep at all dates, the tour visits Bournemouth, Birmingham and London over the next week.
