Marilyn Manson was dropped by his US record label Loma Vista Recordings last night (1st February) hours after actor Evan Rachel Wood and four other women accused him of abuse – allegations that he denies.

After accusing an unnamed partner of abuse in 2019, yesterday Evan Rachel Wood named Manson – real name Brian Warner - as her alleged abuser and claimed he had “horrifically abused me for years.”

“I am done living in fear of retaliation, slander, or blackmail. I am here to expose this dangerous man and call out the many industries that have enabled him, before he ruins any more lives,” Wood wrote.

Four other women released statements at the same time as Wood also alleging abuse against Manson.

Loma Vista Recordings, who released Manson’s last two albums ‘Heaven Upside Down’ (2017) and ‘WE ARE CHAOS’ (2020), confirmed last night they had dropped the singer.

They wrote: “In light of today’s disturbing allegations by Evan Rachel Wood and other women naming Marilyn Manson as their abuser, Loma Vista will cease to further promote his current album, effective immediately. Due to these concerning developments, we have also decided not to work with Marilyn Manson on any future projects.”

Two hours after Loma Vista Recordings’ statement, Marilyn Manson took to Instagram to deny the claims against him.

Manson wrote: “Obviously, my life and my art have long been magnets for controversy, but these recent claims about me are horrible distortions of reality.

“My intimate relationships have always been entirely consensual with like-minded partners. Regardless of how — and why — others are now choosing to misrepresent the past, that is the truth."

Last year, Marilyn Manson aborted an interview with Metal Hammer after he was asked about the subject of Evan Rachel Wood. After Metal Hammer asked 10 further questions for Manson to respond to, the singer’s representatives issued this lengthy statement in response.
