Metallica announce summer 2022 European festival shows
And they've promised more concerts are in the pipeline
Metallica have announced six European festival shows for summer 2022 and they’ve promised that more concerts on this side of the Atlantic are in the pipeline.
The metal legends will grace Europe in June and July 2022 and they’ll play Denmark’s Copenhell, The Netherlands’ Pinkpop, Italy’s Firenze Rocks, the Czech Republic’s Prague Rocks, Belgium’s Rock Werchter, Spain’s Mad Cool, and Portugal’s NOS Alive.
Under the title ‘The Return of the European Summer Vacation’, Metallica said in a statement: “We have waited far too long to say these words – we’re getting back out there and are finally announcing our return to Europe in 2022!
“Needless to say, we cannot wait to see all of you once again as our European ’Tallica Family will finally have a chance to reunite in June and July of next year.
“We can’t wait to once again take the stage as part of the time-honoured tradition of summer music festivals and we’re excited to see some of our friends, both new and old, at Copenhell, Pinkpop, Firenze Rocks, Prague Rocks, Rock Werchter, Mad Cool, and NOS Alive.”
Metallica added: “Stay tuned - we’ll be back soon to keep adding to this list. We hope you, your family, and your friends are safe and in good health, and ready to go next level, next summer!”
The festivals next year will be Metallica’s first European shows since their Worldwired Tour in the summer of 2019, which included stadium shows at a rain-lashed Manchester Etihad Stadium and London Twickenham Stadium.
Fingers crossed the UK will be part of Metallica’s tour itinerary in 2022.
