Metallica reveal full details of 'S&M2' live album and concert film

Metallica and San Francisco Symphony will release their fervently awaited live album and concert film ‘S&M2’ on Friday 28th August 2020 via Blackened Recordings.
Recorded at Metallica and San Francisco Symphony’s two landmark shows at The Chase Center in San Francisco on 6th and 8th September 2019, two decades on from the first ‘S&M’ concert, ‘S&M2’ will be available in an extensive array of formats.
The Deluxe Box Set features limited edition 4LP colour vinyl, exclusive photobook, 2CDs, Blu-ray, sheet music, five guitar picks, poster and a download card.
However, keen Metallica aficionados will want to grab the Super Limited Deluxe Box Set, which features all the contents of the Deluxe Box Set alongside original sheet music used by the Symphony during the shows and hand-signed by all four Metallica band members.
Limited to just 500 copies, fans will need to enter a ballot on the band’s website to be in with a chance of securing the Super Limited Deluxe Box Set.
Produced by Greg Fidelman with James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich, the ‘S&M2’ live album features more than two-and-a-half hours of music from the concerts, which served as the grand opening of the newly built Chase Center venue.
The ‘S&M2’ concert film hit 3,700 cinemas across the globe in October 2019, and the upcoming release features a brand-new edit done by Joe Hutshing (who edited 2013 concert film ‘Through The Never’) with improved audio and visuals.
To whet fans’ appetites ahead of the release of ‘S&M2’, Metallica and San Francisco have shared their performances of ‘All Within My Hands’ and ‘Nothing Else Matters’.
