The ‘A Night For Neil’ memorial concert will take place on Saturday 16th May at the 5,300 capacity Meridian Centre, and it’s being organised with the cooperation of Neil Peart’s family, the charity Overtime Angels, Inc. and the City of St. Catharines.

The line-up is yet to be announced, but organisers have promised there will be an array of world-class musicians and guest speakers all paying tribute to Neil Peart’s legendary career.

Neil Peart died aged 67 on Tuesday 7th January 2020 following a heroic three-and-a-half-year battle with brain cancer.

Lance Kasten, Vice President of Overtime Angels Inc. says of A Night For Neil: “The event will honour “The Professor” of words, lyricism and musicianship from a fan’s perspective. The outpouring of support for this event from across the globe has been tremendous.”

Neil Peart’s parents, Glen and Betty Peart, added: “We are grateful for the team that Overtime Angels is assembling…we are especially pleased to be able to support this charity event that will benefit some much-needed organisations that are close to our hearts.”

Alongside Overtime Angels Inc., proceeds from the event will also go to St. Catharines Hospital and Walker Cancer Centre, The Juravinski Hospital & Cancer Centre in Hamilton, Ontario and The Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie, Ontario.

Tickets go on sale from Ticketmaster US at 10am on Friday.

Rush have been inactive since their 40th anniversary R40 Live tour wrapped up in Inglewood, California in August 2015.

Neil Peart announced his retirement from the band immediately afterwards after being blighted by agonising pain from chronic tendonitis, a foot injury and shoulder problems throughout the 35 shows.
