Ones To Watch: The Bad Flowers

In our weekly feature, Planet Rock shines the spotlight on an up-and-coming band that truly demands your attention. This week it’s The Bad Flowers!

The Bad Flowers are Tom Leighton (vocals/guitars), Dale Tonks (bass) and Karl Selickis (drums).

If you love pure, dynamic, riff-heavy rock n’ roll delivered with passion and prowess, then look no look no further than The Bad Flowers.

Hoping to follow in the hallowed footsteps of their fellow Cannock natives Glenn Hughes and Mel Galley, the ridiculously talented Black Country trio are currently picking up heavy rotation on Planet Rock’s airwaves with their new single ‘Thunder Child’ – a towering, instantly catchy anthem that nods towards umpteen classic bands from days gone by yet still manages to sound contemporary and relevant.

Formed three years ago, alongside releasing two EPs – ‘Vicious Lullabies’ and ‘Killing Time’ - The Bad Flowers have gained a reputation for exhilarating live performances. Initially plying their trade at intimate venues, more recently they’ve landed coveted support slots on extensive tours supporting the likes of Crobot, Jared James Nichols, Scorpion Child, Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown, Toseland and Dan Baird and The Original Sin.

Looking forward, The Bad Flowers are primed to perform at Planet Rock’s second Winter’s End Festival in February (buy tickets here) and they’re releasing their fervently awaited debut album ‘Starting Gun’ in early 2018 too. If ‘Thunder Child’ is anything to go by, we’re in for something very special indeed.
