Ones To Watch: The Dust Coda

The fifth instalment of our weekly Ones To Watch feature sees us shine the spotlight on London based rock n’ roll juggernauts The Dust Coda!

The Dust Coda are John Drake (lead vocals and guitar), Adam Mackie (guitar and vocals), Tony Ho (bass and vocals), Scott Miller (drums).

If you get your kicks from soulful, instantly catchy and full-blooded rock music that often delves into harder realms, then look no further than The Dust Coda.

Formed just two years ago around the nucleus of Australian frontman John Drake and British guitarist Adam Mackie, The Dust Coda have steadily been evolving into a highly promising prospect thanks to their live prowess and ever-expanding smorgasbord of knockout tunes including ‘Rock n’ Roll’, ‘The More It Fades’, ‘Save Me’ and ‘Down In The Valley’.

On Planet Rock’s airwaves for some time now, Wyatt first played early single ‘Weakness’ on his New Rock Show way back in December 2015 and we’ve been so impressed with them that we booked them for last year’s Planet Rockstock and the upcoming Winter’s End 2018 and nominated them for Best New Band at The Rocks 2017; a coveted honour they narrowly missed out on to The Raven Age.

Aside from our trumpet blowing, The Dust Coda have been plying their trade in the live arena playing their own headline shows and a handful of festivals plus opening for an array of distinguished bands including Black Stone Cherry, Steve Harris’ British Lion and The Dead Daisies. Alongside performing, since 2016 they’ve been honing their sound in the studio with acclaimed producer Clint Murphy (Thunder, Manic Street Preachers, Devilskin) and are now poised to release the fruits of their labours - their eponymous debut album on Friday 27th October.

Adam Mackie comments: “We have spent considered time framing up who we are, how we want to sound and what we do. Hopefully we will see that path of self-discovery pay dividends. We are by no means the finished article but we like our rough edges and we are READY! To put it simply, it’s time for people to discover The Dust Coda.”

To mark our Ones To Watch feature, we have an exclusive 48-hour premiere of their new video ‘When The Tide Comes In’. Fans who pre-order the album from The Dust Coda’s official website will receive the track as an instant free download.
