Following the huge success of our inaugural event in July, we’re very happy to announce that Planet Rock Live Rocks The Asylum returns for a second instalment this September.
Filmed at prestigious Birmingham venue The Asylum, Planet Rock Live Rocks The Asylum will once again be streamed exclusively and only through the Planet Rock website from 6.30pm to 10.55pm on Saturday 5th September 2020.
Crucially, the FULLY live HD broadcast won’t be able to watch or download at a later date.
This time around, Planet Rock Live Rocks The Asylum boasts FIVE incredible acts. Headliners Wayward Sons together with Mason Hill, Bad Touch and Gin Annie will all play fully plugged in electric sets. Elles Bailey will perform acoustically on the night.

Due to restrictions place on live music, you cannot attend Planet Rock Live Rocks The Asylum in person – the only people in attendance will be the bands and the crew behind the event. The best and only place to enjoy it is from the comfort of your homes.

Planet Rock will bring you the best sound and visual experience possible. To do this we have a fantastic team working on this event. The sound will be recorded using the state-of-the-art technology through The Mix Bus - an outside broadcast mobile studio. The multi-channel mix will be created to give the best audio experience possible.
So you can see the action as it happens we have five TV broadcast cameraman shooting all the performances – this is not a HD go-pro/ fixed camera event but TV broadcast quality filming, all directed by a veteran of the TV industry. We want to make sure you get the best sound, the best vision and the best way of watching these great bands play... We want you to feel like you are there!

Planet Rock Live Rocks The Asylum line-up* and stage times
Wayward Sons, Mason Hill, Bad Touch, Gin Annie and Elles Bailey are all confirmed to play the second Planet Rock Live Rocks The Asylum.
Planet Rock’s very own Paul Anthony will be on hosting duties and there will interviews on the night too as part of the broadcast. Elles Bailey’s acoustic performances will take place between band changeovers as part of the coverage throughout the night.
The stage times on Saturday 5th September 2020 are as follows:
Gin Annie: 7pm to 7.30pm
Bad Touch: 7.50pm to 8.25pm
Mason Hill: 8.45pm to 9.25pm
Wayward Sons: 9.45pm to 10.55pm

Just like the first event in July, there is an official Planet Rock Live Rocks The Asylum T-shirt, and this time it comes in three different colours - black, navy and maroon.
Available in a variety of men’s and women’s sizes RIGHT HERE, the T-shirt is emblazoned with the Planet Rock Live Rocks The Asylum logo on the front and the five artist logos on the back.
This time around, the T-shirts are available for an early bird price of £15 in advance. This rises to £20 on the day of the event. T-shirts can be pre-ordered up until midnight on Sunday 6th September.

Wayward Sons:
A band that need very little introduction of Planet Rock listeners, Wayward Sons are fronted by former Little Angels vocalist (and Planet Rock DJ extraordinaire) Toby Jepson and they’re always a formidable force at concerts. The band have released two critically lauded albums in 'Ghosts Of Yet To Come' and 'The Truth Ain't What It Used To Be', and stormed events including Download Festival, Steelhouse Festival, Winter’s End and Planet Rockstock to name but a few.
Mason Hill:
Fast-ascending Scottish rockers Mason Hill were THE standout band on Stage 2 at Planet Rockstock in 2017 – so much so that they made the rightful leap to the Main Stage a year later. Purveyors of gutsy yet finely honed hard rock, Mason Hill have toured with the likes of Airbourne, Stone Broken, and Dan Reed Network and they were personally cherry-picked by Thunder to support them at the Glasgow SEC Armadillo in May 2021. Expect a phenomenal performance at Planet Rock Live Rocks The Asylum.
Bad Touch:
Another firm favourite at both Planet Rockstock and Winter’s End, Norfolk lads Bad Touch always put on a superb live show and, in frontman Stevie Westwood, they have one of the truly flamboyant characters on the rock scene. Earlier this summer, they released their rather brilliant new album ‘Kiss The Sky’ via Marshall Records, which features the stomping anthem ‘Strut’ and mighty fine cover of The Kiki Dee Band’s ‘I’ve Got The Music In Me’ that, according to the band, oozes “dirt” and “sex.”
Gin Annie:
Hailing from sunny Wolverhampton, Gin Annie serve up a heady music brew of high octane hard rock. Their songs are refreshingly heavy and guitar driven whilst maintaining a melodic vocal style; instantly infectious, hook-laden choruses and classy melodies. Frontman Dave Foster has astonishing pipes at live shows, and the band are always muscular and tight-knit. They’re guaranteed to get Rockstock started in style.
Elles Bailey:
Blessed with a self-professed “super-smoky” voice, phenomenally talented blues/American singer Elles Bailey has toured with the likes of The Kris Barras Band and King King and wowed events like Ramblin’ Man Fair and Nashville’s Americana Fest. Her beguiling single last year, ‘Little Piece of Heaven’, was written with Bobby Wood, & Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys picked up ‘UK Song of the Year’ at the UK Americana Awards, while her record ‘Road I Call Home’ scooped Record of the Year at the UK Blues Awards.

Right, this bit's boring but useful.
The quality of the broadcast is subject to the individual user's internet speed and device. To watch on a television, the device must be able to use the TV as an external monitor, or stream to a Smart TV or device connected to the TV.
There are countless combinations of devices to do this so we won't be able to offer tech support for individual cases. It's probably best to try connecting your TV to your laptop or phone in advance of the broadcast, to avoid disappointment. Or ask that person you know who's good with this techy stuff.

Processor: 2.33GHz or faster x86-compatible processor, or Intel® Atom™ 1.6GHz or faster processor for netbooks;
Memory: 2GB (1GB for netbooks) 128MB of graphics memory.

Internet Requirements
You will require a WIFI or broadband internet connection (DSL/cable or higher) with a minimum download speed of at least 1.2mbps with latency not exceeding 100ms for SD and 4mbps with latency not exceeding 50ms for HD (mobile data may not be supported). Tell the person in your house who's always playing Call of Fortcraft to give it a rest and come watch the gig with you.
