Planet Rockstock 2020

Main Stage:

Bestowed with the prestigious honour of headlining the Friday night are Adrian Vandenberg’s recently revived eponymous band Vandenberg.

Now fronted by Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow vocalist Ronnie Romero, Vandenberg are releasing their first album in 35 years, ‘2020’, on Friday 29th May and judging by the lead singles ‘Freight Train’ and ‘Shadows of the Night’, we’re in for something very special indeed.

The band will perform a set of Vandenberg anthems, including their seminal hit ‘Burning Heart’, together with Whitesnake and Rainbow classics.

The special guests on Saturday evening are the mighty Phil Campbell & The Bastard Sons. No stranger to Planet Rock events, the legendary Motörhead axeman’s clan are always a fearsome live force and we can’t wait to welcome them back to Rockstock.

Having triumphed when they replaced H.E.A.T at the eleventh hour at last year’s Planet Rockstock, Bridgend’s finest export Those Damn Crows make the rightful leap to special guests on the Sunday night.

With their second album ‘Point of No Return’ storming into the album chart Top 20 earlier this year, expect Those Damn Crows to be on searing form once again at Trecco Bay this December.

Elsewhere on the Main Stage weekend bill we welcome influential heavy metal icons Diamond Head, blues rock virtuoso Danny Bryant, phenomenal rock and soulers Buck & Evans and truly one of the finest live acts around, Myke Gray featuring Kim Jennett.

After impressing on the New Rock Stage last year, the ever-entertaining Collateral and North East rockers Edenthorn both make the leap to the Main Stage in 2020, together with atmospheric and intense noisemakers Empyre.

The Graham Harding Stage:

The New Rock Stage has been renamed The Graham Harding Stage for 2020 in honour of our much-loved crew member who sadly lost his battle with cancer earlier this year.

Graham was part of the crew that worked on both Planet Rockstock and Winter’s End. He was full of life, laughter and one of the nicest people you could meet and work with. You may not have seen him during the weekend, but his crucial behind-the-scenes work (like so many others) made Planet Rockstock happen. He will be dearly missed by us all.

Late Rockstock crew member Graham Harding

Graham’s daughter, Carly, said: “Our dad Graham was a lover of music through and through. For the past decade he's been an integral member of the Rockstock crew, bringing his enthusiasm and can-do attitude to the gig, but his passion for music goes way back to when he started as a DJ and record shop owner in the 80s and 90s.

“He's taken us, his three children and young grandson, to festivals for leisure and work, and instilled an appreciation for music in all of us. Earlier this year we sadly lost our dad to cancer. We are proud and humbled that this year Rockstock dedicate a stage in dad's memory - thank you - and we know he'd be thrilled to be there in spirit. We hope you all have a brilliant time.”

The first seven bands confirmed for The Graham Harding Stage are Anchor Lane, Burnt Out Wreck, Florence Black, The Autumn Killers, The People The Poet, Tribeless and Voodoo Vegas.

Gold Ticket Holders:

For those quick enough to snap up Gold Tickets, once again Planet Rockstock will kick off on the Thursday night on The Graham Harding Stage with Matt Pearce & The Mutiny headlining a bill that also features Hangarvain, Safire and Aren Drift.

We’re also pleased to confirm that for the second year running, there will be a Friday afternoon acoustic session for Gold Ticket Holders featuring The People The Poet and Voodoo Vegas.
