Radiohead To Tour

Band to hit the road in the UK next year

The band, who aren't your typical "album-tour-album" act have revealed that they will finally tour their King Of Limbs record in 2012, roughly a year after it was released.

The band have performed just a couple of shows this year, including a "secret" show at Glastonbury in June but guitarist Ed O'Brien revealed to the BBC that they would be playing "the usual ports of call" next year during a tour that will kick off in February and end in November.

The venues are still being finalised but it's looking likely that the tour will be largely indoors (Radiohead haven't toured UK indoor venues since 2006).

"Some of the shows will be outside, but the ones in Europe will be inside and I think that's very much a reaction to when we played last time. We played in the height of summer and compromised our production. Outdoor gigs can be great, but the sound can get diluted, you're at the mercy of the elements and I think the record King Of Limbs demands a space where the music is loud, strong and detailed."

The band's set will be drawn from the new record, but fans can expect something a little different to their last tour in 2009.

"I think the important thing is that it's got to be a set in itself, it's got to work," O'Brien said. "Last time we went out, it felt very much like In Rainbows plus the greatest hits. And it's not going to be like that this time. I guess it's going to be predominantly from this record and the last record, and then see which songs fit around that."
