Rage Against the Machine stars form supergroup Prophets of Rage
Tom Morello, Brad Wilk and Tim Commerford join forces with Public Enemy's Chuck D and Cypress Hill's B-Real.
Rumours have been building this week for a potential Rage Against The Machine reunion with the launch of a website - prophetsofrage.com - counting down to 1st June.
Shared on the band’s endorsed Twitter account with the hashtag #TakeThePowerBack, there were also posters across Los Angeles emblazoned with the website’s address and artwork prompting much speculation from Rage fans.
Now, if a source from Billboard is to be believed, it’s emerged that Prophets of Rage is actually a the name of a new supergroup featuring Rage Against The Machine’s Tom Morello, Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk, Public Enemy’s Chuck D and Cypress Hill’s B-Real.

According to the influential US publication, Zack de la Rocha will have no involvement in the project, which takes its name from a Public Enemy track from their seminal 1988 album ‘It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back’.
Prophets of Rage are reportedly set to play the Hollywood Palladium on 3rd June and a gig at the legendary Whisky a Go Go venue with summer shows also apparently in the works.
It’s widely expected that Prophets of Rage will have a political edge with US election season just around the corner.
Tom Morello shared an article on Tuesday, which pointed out that Rage Against The Machine’s 1999 video ‘Sleep Now in the Fire’ predicted the Donald Trump for President campaign 17 years ago. It features a man holding Trump placards.
Rage Against The Machine’s last show together was at LA Rising at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in July 2011.
