Keyboard wizard Rick Wakeman will play a one-off socially distanced concert in the English capital next month.

The special show takes place at London Palladium on Friday 27th November 2020 and joining Rick will be his son and fellow ivory tinkler Adam Wakeman, who has previously worked with the likes of Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath.

To fully comply with the Government’s current coronavirus and social distancing guidelines, the seating at the London Palladium will be reconfigured to ensure that audience bubbles are seated at least 1 metre apart.

Measures to achieve this include re-spacing rows in the stalls to guarantee a 1m distance in front and behind and beside each group.

Tickets go on sale from Planet Rock Tickets at 10am on Friday 9th October.

The one-off and intimate performance to a reduced capacity at the Palladium will see Rick Wakeman perform The Even Grumpier Old Christmas Show.

Commenting on the London Palladium concert, Rick Wakeman said: “I’ve had the honour of performing at The Palladium on a few occasions, but never with a show of my own, so in these strange and difficult times this will be a very special occasion for me and hopefully for all of those who come along as well!”

Rick Wakeman's planned Christmas tour November and December 2020 has now been rescheduled for the festive period in 2021. You can check out the full list of dates below.

The Even Grumpier Old Christmas Show 16-date UK tour will now open in Basingstoke on 28th November 2021 before visiting Leicester, Bexhill, High Wycombe, Dorking, Cambridge, Birmingham, Southampton, Salisbury, Southend, Manchester, Gateshead, Middlesbrough, Edinburgh, Bradford and finishing at Hull’s City Hall on 21 December 2021.

As always, the concerts will see Rick meld piano music with hilarious anecdotes from his legendary music career.

The setlist will feature instrumental arrangements of traditional festive tunes, YES songs, Rick’s own solo music, covers of Beatles and David Bowie classics and much more.
