Sixx:A.M. have premiered their charity single ‘Maybe It’s Time’ featuring rock royalty including Slipknot and Stone Sour’s Corey Taylor, Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott, and Guns N’ Roses’ Slash.

Released under the Artists For Recovery banner, ‘Maybe It’s Time’ is the brainchild of Mötley Crüe and Sixx:A.M. bassist Nikki Sixx to highlight the opioid crisis that’s ravaging the United States, and to raise vital funds to serve the recovery community and save lives.

Also featuring country star Brantley Gilbert, Five Finger Death Punch’s Ivan Moody, AWOLNATION and Bad Wolves’ Tommy Vext, all proceeds from sales of ‘Maybe It’s Time’ go directly to The Global Recovery Initiatives Foundation (GRI) to support those in early recovery, with a matching contribution from Better Noise Music.

Sixx:A.M. began teasing the collaboration earlier this week via social media. The original version of ‘Maybe It’s Time’ appears on their sixth studio album ‘Prayers for the Blessed, Vol.2’, which was released back in November 2016.

Nikki Sixx comments: “I am proud to bring together these artists to help raise funds for the Global Recovery Initiative Foundation. The opioid epidemic did not go away when the pandemic came along. Just the opposite...those in early recovery became even more at risk than before so it's more important now than ever to raise awareness and support them. I really believe that united we can make a difference and save lives.”

Explaining how he became involved, Def Leppard and Planet Rock’s Joe Elliott said: “So, Nikki rang me to see if I’d lend a vocal to ‘Maybe It’s Time’. After hearing the track for the first time in a while, I was reminded how good it is so I was in! It felt right, all around giving back to the much-needed Global Recovery Initiative.”

‘Maybe It’s Time’ also appears on the soundtrack to upcoming Better Noise Films movie Sno Babies, which deals with the harrowing realities of teenage addiction and its effects on a middle-class suburban town. It’s released on streaming services on 29th September.

Corey Taylor, who has battled alcoholism, says of addiction: "It’s a real issue… It’s affecting young people more and more every year, so it’s very, very important for all of us to pitch in and do our part, especially some of us who have lived through it…those of us who have survived… it’s the least I can do.”

Bad Wolves vocalist and sober coach, Tommy Vext, adds: “Alcoholism and drug addiction are family diseases. They’re the only diseases that everyone is mad at and hurt if you have it.

“People don't get upset at you if you get cancer. It's because with addiction, it affects everyone whose life touches the sufferer.”

Bad Wolves’ Tommy Vext penned anthem ‘Sober’ also appears on the Sno Babies soundtrack.
