Steel Panther bassist Lexxi Foxx leaves the band

Comedy glam metallers Steel Panther have announced the departure of bassist Lexxi Foxx after 21 years.
Lexxi Foxx – real name Travis Haley – was a member of Steel Panther since their formation as Metal Shop in Los Angeles shortly after the turn of the millennium.
Known for his exuberant live performances, Foxx has performed on all five of Steel Panther’s studio albums from 2009’s ‘Feel the Steel’ through to 2019’s ‘Heavy Metal Rules.’
Announcing Lexxi’s Foxx’s departure, Steel Panther wrote: 'The great pandemic of 2020-2037 has affected all of us. For some though, it has opened doors of opportunity and been a catalyst to seek out one’s true calling in life. This is Lexxi’s story. He started his side business, “Sexy Lexxi’s Prettiest Pets,” to bring in money for Botox during the lockdown. But something miraculous happened. He realized that his love for making pets pretty was greater than his love for being pretty himself. Lexxi discovered a greater love. Possibly, the greatest love of all.
'Lexxi has chosen to hang up his mirror and focus on his newfound passion. Making ugly dogs pretty. Anyway, after nearly 40 years of rocking together and taking Steel Panther from the Viper Room to headlining Wembley Arena, it is with heavy hearts - but great heavy metal memories - that we bid Lexxi Foxx farewell. We love you and we wish you a wonderful future putting eyeliner on chihuahuas.
'Steel Panther will continue to rock the world. And though we may not ever find a bassist quite as beautiful as Lexxi, it shouldn’t be hard to find one to match his towering intellect.

Last September, Steel Panther came up with a way to make money during the pandemic - recording customised songs for fans for a whopping $7,500 apiece (just under £6,000).
Steel Panther’s representatives said at the time: 'Pick any song from Steel Panther’s catalogue and they will record a NEW version with lyrics inspired by you, just for you.
'The band will deliver a full rock song finished to a quality comparable to songs on their albums. The band will do up to two lyric revisions prior to recording the song. Once lyrics have been approved, this product is non-refundable.'
