Members of Thin Lizzy, Motörhead, Thunder, Uriah Heep, Those Damn Crows, Massive Wagons, Saxon and Skindred - together with Planet Rock's Darren Redick - have joined forces with Steelhouse Festival to promote the Welsh rock extravaganza’s limited-edition NHS charity T-shirt.

Launched at the end of May, Steelhouse Festival’s NHS T-Shirt has already sold hundreds of units with all proceeds from sales benefitting the NHS Royal Gwent Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit, which is based in Newport, Gwent – Steelhouse Festival's native county. You can order it RIGHT HERE.

Costing £25 (plus delivery), the limited-edition T-shirt goes off sale on Sunday (5th July), so to drum up awareness for the final few days, a plethora of big names from the world of rock who have previously performed up the Steelhouse mountain have recorded video messages while bedecked in the T-shirt.

Steelhouse Festival organisers Mikey Evans and Max Rhead say: “It was with heavy hearts that we had to postpone this year’s Steelhouse Festival, but at least with this initiative we’ve managed to get something positive out of the situation.

“Thank you to everyone who has so far bought a Steelhouse NHS Heroes t-shirt and also to the band members who have taken the time to get on board with this, wearing the shirt and recording their videos...Diolch yn fawr iawn.”

In his video message, Uriah Heep’s Mick Box said of the T-shirt: “I’ve been listening to our performance at the Steelhouse Festival (Uriah Heep played last summer) which we really loved playing.

“They’ve done a great thing and made these fantastic shirts available supporting the Royal Gwent ICU and the rest of the NHS which is so special to us right now, especially with what we’re going through right now. Get on the Steelhouse website and wear it with pride!’

Former Motörhead axeman, Phil Campbell, who has played Steelhouse with his eponymous band Phil Campbell & The Bastard Sons, said: “These Steelhouse shirts look pretty cool in blue don’t you agree? Buy one of these and support our National Health Service.”

Those Damn Crows frontman Shane Greenall comments: “Do not adjust you sets! I am wearing a BLUE t-shirt...And for good reason. The good people at Steelhouse festival have put these together to say a big ‘thanks’ to everybody at the Newport Royal Gwent ICU.

“Head on over to the Steelhouse website and buy one of these because at the end of the day they helped us, it’s time to say thanks to them.”

The legendary Scott Gorham of Thin Lizzy and Black Star Riders fame adds: “This is a great idea and I fully endorse it. I ask everyone to go buy a t-shirt so we can help the Newport Royal Gwent ICU. Let’s be part of the solution and help all our friends at the NHS who are doing such a great job.”
