As you’re no doubt already aware, billboard adverts have been cropping up around the globe this week that depict skeletal incarnations of the ‘Appetite for Destruction’-era line-up of Guns N’ Roses - Axl Rose, Slash, Duff McKagan, Izzy Stradlin and Steven Adler - and point towards the website www.gnr.fm.

Initially emblazoned with the words ‘Destruction Is Coming’, this morning the website changed to a timer that’s counting down to 5am on Friday (4th May) and also includes an interactive map where fans can log and find their nearest billboard.

Although the announcement is likely to be an expanded reissue of ‘Appetite For Destruction’, all the teasing has fuelled fan speculation that Axl, Slash and Duff are primed to invite Steven and Izzy back into the fold for some ‘classic’ Guns N’ Roses shows.

Steven, who has guest performed several times on the Not In This Lifetime... Tour, even appeared to be teasing the reunion when he posted his skeletal likeness on Instagram yesterday:

Now, speaking to HEAVY Mag to promote his Guns N’ Roses covers band Adler’s Appetite’s upcoming 10-date Australian tour, Steven has denied knowledge of a reunion.

Asked what the billboard and website are teasing, Steven said: “I think it’s just a billboard for a box-set of CDs of the GN’R collection. I’m not sure but that is what I think it is.”

He continued: “If it’s a tour of the 'Appetite For Destruction' line-up to be touring together, which I have been praying for over twenty-five years, (then) nobody has said anything to me.

“So, I really don’t know but you will definitely be able to see me play ‘Appetite For Destruction’ with an amazing band, a great band (Adler’s Appetite) in Australia so that’s (what) we’ve all got going for us.

“Until the other GN'R guys wants to get the five of us back together - whoever runs GN’R I don’t know - whenever they’re ready I know that I’m ready. I am ready and set (laughs).”

Fronted by Constantine Maroulis, who came sixth on American Idol in 2005 and later starred in the Broadway production of Rock of Ages, the new Adler’s Appetite line-up will make their live debut at Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, California on Thursday 10th May before their tour Down Under.

Guns N’ Roses, of course, headline Download Festival on Saturday 9th June. Get your weekend and day tickets right here.
