The Quireboys draft in big names for first studio album without Spike
'The Band Rolls On…' lands in December

The Quireboys have recruited a raft of big-name special guests for their first studio album without vocalist and founding member Spike.
In late March, Quireboys fans were shocked when the band announced they had parted ways with Spike. They claimed that the decision to axe Spike was "the culmination of not just months but years of persistent problems."
Amongst other things, The Quireboys also alleged that Spike sang on a freelance basis after declining to sign up for their registered business, and they also cited issues caused by Spike’s solo show booking clashes and several no-shows at live gigs.
Spike refuted their claims and vowed to continue performing under The Quireboys name.
In May, he enlisted Quireboys co-founder Guy Bailey to his band and a few weeks later he recruited former bassist Nigel Mogg.
The Quireboys have now announced that their 12th studio album – and first without Spike – is called ‘The Band Rolls On…’ and it will land in December 2022.
Def Leppard frontman and Planet Rock presenter Joe Elliott, who is also a member of Down ‘n’ Outz with The Quireboys' Paul Guerin, Guy Griffin and Keith Weir, is one of the big-name guest performers on the record.
Other musicians appearing on ‘The Band Rolls On…’ include Angry Anderson (Rose Tattoo), Charlie Starr (Blackberry Smoke), Dan Reed (Dan Reed Network), Josh Todd and Stevie D (Buckcherry)m Chip Z’Nuff (Enuff Z'Nuff), Ryan Roxie (Ryan Roxie Page 77, Alice Cooper), Scotti Hill (Skid Row), Steve Conte (New York Dolls, Michael Monroe) and Tim Mosher (Junkyard).
Quireboys singer and guitarist Guy Griffin says: “It’s great to have people we really respect and admire in the industry adding some of their magic to the new songs we’ve written.
“After twenty years of writing Quireboys songs, these collaborations have not only taken a bit of the pressure off me but brought a fresh perspective to the process, another way of looking at a song. It’s also been a pleasure to sing alongside such great names.”
