After over 110,000 votes were cast by rock music fans from around the world, at 10am on Friday 23rd February 2018 Wyatt announced the winners of The Rocks 2018. As with every year so far, all the awards were completely voted for by fans, as a welcome antidote to the pop music back-slapping seen at so many other awards ceremonies.

The big winners in 2018 were Deep Purple and Foo Fighters, who both walked off with two awards each. After the release of their critically-acclaimed album 'Infinite', Deep Purple deservedly picked up the coveted Best British Album award, as well as winning Best British Band; a worthy nod, as the band celebrate their half-century of existence.

The legendary Ian Paice of Deep Purple dropped us this message thanking the fans who voted for them, as well as explaining how the band were truly pleased with 'Infinite'.

Perhaps unsurprisingly after the release of their hugely successful album 'Concrete and Gold' and subsequent world touring, Foo Fighters picked up Best International Album and Best International Band, having previously been nominated 3 times before.

Also on the road in 2017 were Metallica who won the fans' vote for Best Live Band, which, given their awe-inspiring WorldWired Tour is now entering its second year, is justly deserved.

Planet Rock's own shock-rock legend Alice Cooper was voted Best Worldwide Solo Artist, following the release of his storming 27th studio album 'Paranormal'.
