Recorded at Birmingham Genting Arena on Saturday 4th February, the 1970 heavy metal classic was the encore song at their historic swansong show in their home city.

After blitzing through the seminal track, an emotional Ozzy Osbourne tells the capacity crowd: “You are the f***ing finest, the best, I love you all. Thank you for coming, thank you for my life, thank you, thank you, thank you.”

Screened at cinemas across the globe on 28th September, The End of The End is released on DVD and Blu-Ray on Friday 17th November.

As well as documenting the final show in its entirety, the Dick Carruthers (Led Zeppelin ‘Celebration Day’, The Rolling Stones ‘Bridges To Babylon’) directed film also features behind-the-scenes footage and interviews.

Speaking to Planet Rock’s Wyatt back in February, Tony Iommi cast doubt on whether the Birmingham Genting Arena show was Sabbath’s final show when he said he wouldn’t rule out further activity in future.

“I’m going to miss playing on stage because that has been my whole life, the band and playing on stage,” Tony told Wyatt. “I like (playing on stage) and I’m sure it’s not going to end like that; I’m sure we might do a one-off show somewhere.

“It’s just the touring for me – it’s time to stop roaming the world and be at home for a bit... I’m still going to write and put stuff out.”

Quizzed as to whether Sabbath’s recording days are over, Tony added: “No, I don’t think we’ve ruled anything out apart from me not wanting to tour any more on that scale, but who knows, we may do something.

“We haven’t spoken about it - that’s another thing we haven’t talked about anything really that’s to do with what’s going to happen afterwards. But I’m sure something can happen somewhere.”
