Along with his earthshattering band Spinal Tap, bass virtuoso Derek helped define a generation and very much rewrote the rule book for rock music - and the towering tour-de-force that is ‘It Don’t Get Old’ duly picks up where they left off.

We could thumb at the thesaurus endlessly to find the right superlatives to describe the musical magnificence contained within ‘It Don’t Get Old’s three minutes and 54 seconds, but we truly wouldn’t do it justice.

Instead, we’ll leave it to you to imbibe the jaw-dropping video that features appearances from Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith and guitarist Waddy Wachtel.

‘It Don’t Get Old’ features on Derek Smalls’ fervently awaited solo album ‘Smalls Change (Meditations Upon Ageing)’, which will finally land on Friday 13th April 2018 via Twanky Records/BMG.

Nilford-on-Null’s prodigal son drafted in a smorgasbord of musicians to appear on the album including Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Foo Fighters’ Taylor Hawkins, Rick Wakeman, Toto’s Steve Lukather, Steely Dan’s Donald Fagen, Dweezil Zappa and Peter Frampton.

‘It Don’t Get Old’ is the second song to be unveiled from the album, after he debuted the title track ‘Smalls Change’ in January. Feast your eyes on the aesthetically stunning video here:
