Fleetwood Mac performed the Peter Green-era classic ‘Man of the World’ live for the first time in 50 years in Perth, Australia on Sunday night (11th August).
The band were 12 songs into their second sold-out show at the RAC Arena when guitarist Neil Finn introduced the seminal song to the 15,500 strong crowd.
Finn said: “We’re going to debut this song now which was one of (Peter Green’s) great songs. It’s an honour and a privilege for me to play it for you.”

One of Fleetwood Mac’s most enduring songs, the intensely personal and melancholy ‘Man of the World’ was penned and performed by Peter Green a year before his exit from the band.
Reflecting on the track in 2015, Mick Fleetwood told MOJO Magazine: "It's a sad song. Had we known what Peter was saying... What's that line? 'How I wish that I'd never been born.' You know, whoa. It's pregnant with passion, it's a prayer, it's a crying out."
The second RAC Arena show on Sunday also featured the first performance of 1975 track ‘Blue Letter’, which hadn’t been aired since the Behind The Mask Tour almost three decades ago.
Fleetwood Mac played two massive shows at London Wembley Stadium as part of the 87-date An Evening with Fleetwood Mac Tour, which concludes in Edmonton, Canada in November.
