WATCH: Foreigner perform with Lou Gramm, Al Greenwood & Ian McDonald for first time in 37 years
Four of the five surviving original members of Foreigner all shared the stage together in New York last night (20th July).
Back in January, ex-vocalist Lou Gramm announced that he, former multi-instrumentalist Ian McDonald and keyboardist Al Greenwood will perform “a song or two” with Foreigner at a “date yet to be determined” on the band’s 40th anniversary tour.
He confirmed the news with the following tweet:

Last night, eight shows into Foreigner’s North American tour, the trio of original members made their eagerly-awaited appearance and joined Mick Jones and co. on stage during the encore at the Jones Beach Theatre in Wantagh.
To mark their first performance since McDonald and Greenwood were fired in September 1980, they played three songs together; 1977’s ‘Long, Long Way From Home’, 1984’s ubiquitous anthem ‘I Want to Know What Love Is’ and set closer, 1978’s ‘Hot Blooded’.
Original drummer Dennis Elliott is the only surviving member who didn’t take part in last night’s special reunion. Bassist Ed Gagliardi died from cancer in May 2014.
