Performing a sold-out show at the 22,000 capacity Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul, the metal titans debuted two ‘Hardwired… To Self-Destruct’ tracks live for the very first time.

The two blistering tracks ‘Now That We’re Dead’ and ‘Halo on Fire’ were dropped midway through a set that consisted of five ‘Hardwired…’ tracks alongside 13 other seminal classics from their 35-year back catalogue.

Metallica play two dates in China next week before shows in Hong Kong, Singapore, Denmark, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile and the US take them through to the late spring.

As of yet there is no news of any UK shows, however, speaking to Planet Rock’s Paul Anthony last November, James Hetfield says it’s in their sights.

Asked if they plan to visit Blighty, James said: “Oh, for sure. We’ve got at least the next year and a half lined up for the… WorldWired Tour so we’re planning on being out for quite a while.

“At our age – 53 – our mind, body and spirit can only do so much so we’re gonna pace ourselves so we can be 110% (at) every show. Two weeks at a time, day on, day off – that’s what it takes for us to feel good and running on all cylinders. So we’ll be out for a long time.”

The full set-list in Seoul was as follows:

Sad But True
Wherever I May Roam
The Unforgiven
