Author: David MayPublished 2nd Sep 2022

Sunday Brunch host Simon Rimmer is joining us for a special series across September as he looks at the unique pairing of food and music. Across the Table with Simon Rimmer launches on this Sunday (4th September) with the further three episodes on air each Sunday from 6pm – 8pm.

Simon will be celebrating excellent food and even better music as he serves up the best selection of classical music to help accompany your evening meal on Scala Radio. The show will take Simon and Scala listeners on a journey to find the best pieces from the classical world, as well as discovering lesser-known gems that have a connection with food and drink.

The chef will be putting together the perfect dinner party playlist as he is joined by his favourite foodie friends such as Tom Kerridge, Clodagh McKenna, Paul Ainsworth and many more. The series will also include conversations around the dinner table, ranging from kitchen hacks and food trends to budgeting and sustainability.

On joining Scala Radio Simon said “I am really excited to be joining Scala Radio for my very own show. Food and music are probably the two most important things in my life (apart from sleep, coffee and football) so I’m looking forward to learning more about the link between classical music and the world of food. It has also been fun to discover composers who had interesting eating habits – Rossini, Satie, Mozart… I’ve heard they had some weird foodie quirks that I’m going to share with the listeners.”

Join Simon and Scala Radio as they take you on a sensual musical journey to help bring your dinner parties and dinner dates to life.

Across the Table with Simon Rimmer airs on this Sunday (4th September) from 6pm – 8pm with further episodes on 11th, 18th and 25th September.
