Hosted by Anna Smith and Hedda Archbold at The Garden Cinema in Central London in the run-up to International Women’s Day, the second annual Girls On Film Awards took place on 23 February 2023 at The Garden Cinema in Central London, to celebrate female-focused films. To spotlight the women who are sometimes under-represented in awards season, the categories differ slightly from the usual.

The Woman KIngs won for both 'Best Ensemble' and 'Best Female Friendship On-Screen', and only days after it won a BAFTA, Aftersun won the best feature film award.

Other winners included Hildur Guðnadóttir who won for her music for Women Talking and Tar in the Best Composer category, for which Scala Radio was the media partner.
