Scala Radio proudly presents the inaugural Scala Radio Christmas Live with Holiday Inn Express. The stage is set, and the show will dazzle with the best of the West End alongside all your classical Christmas favourites.

We've gathered together everything you might need to know about the event - from which artists will be playing to ticket information, read on for details about Scala Radio Christmas Live 2022.

Where and when is Scala Radio Christmas Live 2022?

Scala Radio Christmas Live with Holiday Inn Express will start at 3pm on 27th November 2022 at The London Palladium. We hope to see you there!

How to get there

The London Palladium's official website has lots of information on how to get to the venue, including travelling by Tube, bus or car.

There are tickets still available - head over to Ticketmaster to purchase.

Who is hosting?

Scala Radio and TV presenter Penny Smith will be your host for the afternoon and has announced some of the artists who will be part of this festive event on her Scala Radio Drive Show.

Who will be performing at Scala Radio Christmas Live 2022?

Michael Ball and Alfie Boe

They have become known as the UK's favourite entertainers, and together form the ultimate musical duo: Michael Ball and Alfie Boe never fail to raise spirits with their unique combination of powerful voices and tongue-in-cheek charm. They have toured the UK to rapturous applause and sell-out shows and now they will join us on The London Palladium stage for our afternoon of live music.

Anne Dudley

Anne Dudley is famed for being a composer, arranger, producer, performer, founding member of the band Art of Noise, and Oscar winner for 'Best Original Music or Comedy Score' for the film The Full Monty. Anne has also penned TV scores from Poldark to Jeeves and Wooster; and in April this year she released her piano album Crossing the Bar (a former Scala Album of the Week).

Luke Evans

Starting his career on the West End stage in musicals then theatre, Luke Evans has become an international film and TV star. In 2019, Luke released his debut album 'At Last' to widespread acclaim and now he is set to wow The London Palladium audience with a set of his favourite classics and more.

MILOŠ

MILOŠ is a world-renowned, classical chart-topping guitarist who has led the classical guitar revival over the past decade. He has sold out tours from the UK right through to Japan, winning a clutch of awards including a Classical BRIT.

Esther Abrami

Violinist Esther Abrami's story is that of a young, modern day woman of the internet age who has succeeded on international stages. She secured a coveted recording contract with a major label due to her courage, determination and willingness to share the ups and downs of her own remarkable life as a musician with a wide online audience.

John Owen-Jones

John Owen-Jones is a record-breaking West End and Broadway actor and singer. John is best known for his critically acclaimed and award-winning performances as Jean Valjean in Les Misérables and as The Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera. John remains the youngest actor in West End history to have played Jean Valjean in Les Misérables (a role he also played twice on Broadway) and has performed as the Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera nearly 2,000 times - more than any actor in the show's entire West End run. John has released six solo albums which he also produced. 'Hallelujah' EP (2006) 'John Owen-Jones' (2009), 'Unmasked' (2011) 'Rise' (2015) 'Bring Him Home' (2017) 'Spotlight' (2019) and the Christmas Album (2021).

The Ayoub Sisters

Scottish/Egyptian instrumentalists and composers, The Ayoub Sisters rose to stardom after their debut album premiered at Number 1 in the Official Classical Charts. The sisters are recognised internationally for their chemistry on stage, as well as their ability to unite different musical genres and cultures together through their unique compositional style. 

Will I be able to listen back?

Scala Radio Christmas Live 2022 will be available to listen back - not once, but twice! Its first play will air on Sunday 4th December at 6pm, finishing at 8pm. It will be played for a second time on Christmas Day, again 6-8pm.
