The Bath Festival have made its opening concert with the newly-formed Bath Festival Orchestra available for free online today.

The concert was performed last week on the day that restrictions eased in the UK and concert venues were allowed to welcome distanced audiences back. The electrifying event was attended by around 300 people in the newly-restored Bath Abbey, and included heart-stopping performances of music by Weber, Strauss and Brahms.

The free-to-stream concert is part of Bath Festival at Home - a specially curated series of events captured during the in-person festival which came to a close earlier this week.

Bath Festival at Home also features other events including an interview with Rachel Clarke whose book Breathtaking documents an insider's view of medicine during coronavirus. Kadiatu Kanneh-Mason also joins the festival in conversation about her book Raising the Kanneh-Masons. And for those who haven't discovered the joys of Bath itself, there's even a digital walking tour featuring the locations used in the Netflix runaway success Bridgerton.

There's more music available on Bath Festival at Home including performances from 'the hottest choral group' Gesualdo Six, plus music from the Bridge String Quartet.
