How to watch the Nordoff Robbins Carol Service 2020

The ever popular Nordoff Robbins Carol Service will be streamed globally from 7pm GMT on 15th December, in a special fundraising service hosted by Nile Rodgers. This year's digital event will also feature performances from an array of musicians, including Sir Cliff Richard, Florence Welch, Jack Savoretti, Kaiser Chiefs and many more.

Scala Radio is delighted to team up with Nordoff Robbins to support this service, which raises vital funds for the music therapy charity, which is expecting to lose around 75% of their fundraising income due to the pandemic.

What is Nordoff Robbins?

Nordoff Robbins is the largest independent music therapy charity in the UK, dedicated to enriching the lives of people affected by life limiting illness, isolation or disability. Their music therapists are expertly trained to tune into each movement, reaction and expression of the individuals they work with to discover how music can enrich their lives.

This event will not only be full of festive cheer, but raise vital funds to help Nordoff Robbins in its mission to bring music therapy to as many vulnerable people who could benefit from it as possible.

Who is performing at this year's Nordoff Robbins Carol Service?

Hosted by music legend Nile Rodgers, the virtual service will feature readings, performances and festive messages from artists' homes around the world.

The artists confirmed so far include cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason, Florence Welch, Roger Daltrey from The Who, OneRepublic, Kaiser Chiefs, Simple Minds, Rebecca Ferguson, James Dean Bradfield from Manic Street Preachers and The Script’s Danny O’Donoghue, with many more to be announced.

The stream is free for all to watch, although audiences are invited to donate.

Nordoff Robbins Carol Service 2019

Last year's Carol Service took place at St Luke's Church in the heart of Chelsea with a reading from Scala Radio's Simon Mayo, a performance from Alexis Ffrench, plus guest readings from actor Andrew Scott, TV presenter Anneka Rice, and singers Alfie Boe and Danielle de Niese.
