Scala Radio proudly supports the fantastic work of The Prince’s Trust .The future of young people across the UK was already uncertain but due to the coronavirus pandemic, they’re now at risk of being left behind – missing out on vital education, training and job opportunities.

Throughout the week, Scala Radio is celebrating The Prince's Trust, we're chatting to some of their Ambassadors including Felicity Kendal, Joan Collins and Brenda Blethyn. We will also be talking to some of the young people who have benefitted from the incredible work the charity does.

Especially for Prince's Trust Day on the 6th of October our Composer in Residence, Alexis Ffrench, has composed a special piece to reflect the powerful and life changing work of the charity. Tune in on the 6th October to hear this moving track.

Who are the Prince’s Trust

The Prince’s Trust has been giving young people across the UK the skills and confidence to move into work, training or education for the past 45 years and continues to build on this legacy today.

Many of the young people helped by The Prince’s Trust are in or leaving care, facing issues such as homelessness or mental health problems, or they have been in trouble with the law. Three in four young people on Prince’s Trust programmes move into work, education or training.

How can I get involved?

Next week, the Brilliant Breakfast is launching, which is a nationwide initiative to raise funds for The Prince’s Trust, in particular the young women we support.

Between 11-17 October, you can host your very own breakfast with your family, friends or colleagues. You can make your breakfast whatever you want it to be – from hosting a coffee and a piece of toast for parents after school drop off, to breakfast in the office before the working days starts. It's an opportunity for us all to get together in a fun and relaxed way after months of being apart.

Go here for more information on how to host a breakfast and to sign up.
