Simon Mayo on Scala Radio: The show

The Joybringer

If you tune into Simon’s show, you will hear the Joybringer. This is where Simon asks listeners to send in sounds that bring them joy, such as their dog sleeping or crashing waves and share it on air! Make sure you listen to see how you can get involved.

Working From Home

Talking of getting involved... Simon has a loyal fanbase of self-professed Scalawags. These fans of the show often message in to let him know when they are WFH (working from home), if they're a Lunch Break Listener (LBL), Listening on Walkies (LAW) and much more. Don’t worry, we will let you join this exclusive club – just get us on the radio!

The Scala Radio Book Club

As a writer himself, he hosts a weekly Scala Radio Book Club every Thursday, where he interviews world-renowned authors about their latest release.

Simon doesn’t stop there... each week, Simon also chats to celebrities within the worlds of music, art and film with notable guests including Steve Coogan, Lenny Henry, Katherine Jenkins, Ray Mears, Prue Leith and Sheku Kanneh-Mason.
