Murran’s Mum, Loraine, tells her story:

“Murran is 11 years old and has Spina Bifida and hydrocephalous. She is paralysed from the waist down. Being a wheelchair user she gets frustrated at not being able to access certain places so I decided to try and find her an all terrain manual wheelchair to allow her to be more independent and give her more freedom in the great outdoors. After months of searching I finally found the Mountain Trike. The company is based in Cheshire. She tried it at progression bikes in Dunkeld and thought it was amazing."

"The wheelchair costs £3995 and the adventure rack and push handle is £325. As a single parent with 5 children I could not afford it so decided to apply to Radio Tay’s Cash for Kids. They phoned me and said they were funding the whole amount for this wheelchair. Murran and I were both very happy."

"This wheelchair will allow Murran to get out more and let her go to places normal people can access with ease like the beach, woods, fields and parks, she will get out in snow and ice and be able to go on any rough terrain that a normal manual wheelchair cannot access."

"Thank you Cash for Kids for giving Murran her freedom."
