Tayside promotes inclusion in lots of different ways and in a school setting, sometimes specialist input can add value and another dimension to the curriculum.

Arbroath High School’s SFL Department includes a number of pupils with very complex needs and the school applied to Cash for Kids to cover the cost of Music Therapy for these children.

The school hopes to enhance the self-esteem of these pupils and foster an enjoyment of music and musical instruments as an aid to emotional wellbeing. Music Therapy is a recognised method of working with those who have social and communication disorders and those on the autistic spectrum. Pupils learn to co-operate, take turns, use eye contact etc. and it can also improve their ability to express emotion. Cash for Kids was delighted to fund this request and looks forward to hearing how they get on.
