Collecting toys for disadvantaged children across Tayside and Fife has resulted in a pile up of cardboard boxes, in stepped BusinessWaste.

Normally classed as trade waste for which there’s a charge, but BusinessWaste.co.uk have done the job for absolutely nothing.

It’s an unexpected boost for the appeal, which means we’re able to put more money into our number one aim of making sure children across Tayside and Fife have a brilliant Christmas.

BusinessWaste.co.uk’s Liam Brown made the fantastic gesture after hearing that Radio Tay’s listeners have been collecting hundreds of toys for the appeal.

“Mission Christmas has been so successful this year that there were piles of cardboard to be collected" Liam said.

“We thought it wasn’t right that Radio Tay’s Cash For Kids should have to pay for its disposal, so we asked the boss, and he agreed that BusinessWaste.co.uk would pick up the cost instead.”

Managing Director David Adams said: “We’re right behind Mission Christmas, and we’ve given the gift of keeping the appeal’s costs as low as possible.

“Waste collection is the last thing you think of when organising for a super cause like this, so it was our absolute pleasure to do them this little favour.”

Last year, Mission Christmas helped over 3,700 children aged 0-18 enjoy the festive season. Thanks to new friends like BusinessWaste.co.uk in the business community, we’re hoping to go even better in 2017
