Andy Murray’s wife Kim has given birth to a baby girl!

The Scottish tennis ace and Kim’s first child was born on Sunday night. The name has so far been kept under wraps.

The couple, who are both 28, announced the pregnancy last August four months after they tied the knot in Andy’s hometown of Dunblane.

Last month Andy flew straight home after losing the Australian Open final to world number one Novak Djokovic to be with his wife.

Speaking to the BBC about fatherhood, Andy said that his baby will come before tennis.

"My child is more important to me, and my wife is more important to me, than a tennis match,” he said.

"It's a big change for me and my wife, but that's the current priority and I'll see after that.

"I have no idea how that will change things. I still love tennis."

Congratulating Kim and Andy, Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon tweeted: “Lovely news. Congratulations to @andy_murray and Kim on the birth of their daughter. Wishing every happiness.”

Andy and Kim, who is daughter of player-turned-coach Nigel Sears, began dating in 2005. They announced their engagement in November 2014.
