Is this the best Star Wars themed wedding ever?!

Australian couple get married at the location of world premiere!

Published 18th Dec 2015

As arguably the biggest movie franchise of all time with fervent fans all over the globe, there have been countless Star Wars themed weddings over the decades.

However, Australian couple and die-hard Star Wars fans Andrew Porters, 29, and Caroline Ritter, 34, upped the ante with their very special nuptials yesterday.

The couple flew 7,500 miles to the red carpet of the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood where they tied the knot just two days after the global premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens took place at the very same spot!

Although Andrew and Caroline wore more traditional wedding attire, it was their guests dressed as characters including Darth Vader, R2-D2 (complete with bow tie) and Chewbacca that truly stole the show.

Obi-Wan Kenobi himself conducted the ceremony, while a Jedi violinist performed Darth Vader’s theme ‘The Imperial March’ for them to walk down the isle to.

As if that wasn’t enough, there was a smorgasbord of Star Wars themed cakes for guests to gorge themselves on.

Hilariously, before they were pronounced man and wife, officiator Obi-Shawn Crosby said: “As you have just taken your first step into a larger world, by the power invested in me by Master Yoda, the Jedi Council and the state of California, I now pronounce you husband and wife.”

Blown away by how many people watched the ceremony, Andrew told the crowd: "I walked up from our motel room and just went, 'Oh crap that's a lot of media.' I was expecting one to two cameras but all of you guys coming out here today it's been great."

The couple will be honeymooning in the UK and Europe where, of course, they’re stopping off at a Star Wars convention.
