The X Factor's Five After Midnight have gained a new member, as singer Kieran Alleyne welcomed his first child with his ex-girlfriend Sophie.

The trio were one of the favourites to win the famous singing show last year but narrowly missed out in the final to runner-up Saara Aalto and winner Matt Terry.

Proud dad Kieran took to social media to announce his lovely news to fans. Posting a snap alongside his little one, Kieran wrote, 'My little bundle of joy'.

The singer also seemed to reveal his son's name when he hashtagged the name Jaxon in the cute post.

Kieran also tweeted his shock at becoming a dad for the first time.

Kieran split with his ex-girlfriend and mum of his new born baby back in March this year after they enjoyed a 16-month relationship.

Despite the split, the pair remain great friends and he recently told a national newspaper he thinks Sophie will be 'the most amazing mother'.

Kieran announced he was set to become a dad when he was competing on The X Factor last year.

Performing alongside his friends Jordan Lee and Nathan Lewis, the band were placed in Louis Walsh's groups category and made it all the way to the final.

They were joined by 2015 winner Louisa Johnson in the final as they performed Clean Bandit's hit 'Tears' and narrowly missed out on singing the winning track.

Five After Midnight have just completed the annual X Factor finalists tour across the UK, with the band signing a record deal with Syco Music back in January.

Congratulations to Kieran and Sophie!
