Britain's most successful female Olympian announced some fantastic news yesterday.
Laura Kenny (née Trott) took to Instagram to reveal that she and her husband Jason are expecting a child.
Choosing a very unusual way of announcing the news Laura posted a photo of two adult bikes with a kid's bike next to them. The photo simply had a ❤️️ emoji as a caption.
The happy news has since been confirmed by the couple's agent who said, 'I can confirm that Laura Kenny is indeed pregnant and that she, Jason and their respective families are absolutely thrilled and delighted with the news.'
An hour after her initial announcement Laura posted a photo of the couple's dogs and their thoughts on the good news.
Messages of kind wishes and congratulations have come in from across the world, including some tiny kids' trainers from Laura's sponsor Adidas.
While husband Jason doesn't have an Instagram account he has responded to the photo on Twitter with a photo from The Simpsons with the caption, 'I wondered why this leaflet came through the post...'
Just after the Rio Olympics Laura was quizzed on Good Morning Britain about her plans to have children following a tweet she posted in mid-August.
To which she replied, "not before the next Olympics.
"We would like kids obviously but when that happens I don't know.
"I think it would be hard to juggle a cycling career with a child to be totally honest," she explained.
However a pregnancy now could still mean that she could compete in the 2020 Olympics, we'll just have to wait and see.
Laura and Jason both did phenomenally well in the Rio Olympics winning 10 gold medals between them.
They married in September last year and then went on a well deserved honeymoon, photos of which were posted on Instagram.
