Music fans across Scotland are getting the chance to take in a new festival this summer.

Hamilton Park Racecourse will host its first Music Festival Racenight bringing to the stage Scottish Indie rockers Glasvegas for one night only in the grand finale of its Jordan Electrics Super Saturdays series.

The Glasgow four-piece will perform as part of the celebration of the best local bands in the country on September the 24th.

Kelvin and Indigo Velvet - already cult names in the Scottish music scene - are just some of the other acts in the jam-packed line-up.

The organiser is also in talks with a number of other big name acts and will reveal details in the coming weeks.

The gates to the action packed, day-long event will open at 12 noon and will also feature a thrilling racecard.

Vivien Kyles, Chief Executive at Hamilton Park Racecourse, said: “Bringing a musical festival back to Hamilton has been a long term ambition of the racecourse and to have Glasvegas as the headline act will be music to the ears of revellers across the country. Hamilton is no stranger to music festivals and this event is all about bringing together Scottish bands to celebrate our love of music.

“Scotland has made a name for itself the world over for the musical talent that hails from the country so to have so many talented local bands on the one stage is a big moment for us. We have gone for full on action on the track and on the stage and we know Glasvegas will play to the crowd and have everyone up on their feet and singing their tunes at the top of their voices.

“We will be continuing to add to the line-up as the date draws closer so if you are a music fan there is only one place to be this September.”
