For many, entering the world of online dating can be a nerve-wracking experience; but for Christy and Ben it changed thier lives...
We met up with Christy to find out what made her give online dating a try? "After a very turbulent relationship a few years ago I shut down and never thought I would find anyone. I was single for a few years and through working and family, I was rarely out enough to be meeting new people and my sister in law suggested I try Online Dating."
How did you feel? "I was very reluctant as i had tried one of the free sites before and it did not work very well. She told me that obviously if they are paying for the service then they are serious about finding someone."
What happened next? "I decided to give it a go and started talking to my now Fiancée, turns out he was in the same boat and his friend told him the same. I had only been online for a couple of weeks when we started chatting. We met up and the rest, they say, is history. We moved in together after a short while and we got engaged at the end of February. I have never been so happy in all my life. I never thought this would ever happen."
What do you have planned for the future? "We have now put a deposit down on our wedding which will be in summer 2018....... when you know, you know."
What would you say to other people considering Online Dating? "The monthly fee for the service is less than what you would spend on a night out on a date or in the pub. Its well worth the money. If I had not been talked into trying it, I don't know where I would be now. It has changed my life forever."
