Unless you're literally the Grinch everyone loves Christmas. It's such a magical time; the lights, the food, the good television and everyone is in the festive spirit.

If you're due to have a little one soon, this time is extra special and although there's a list of 50 cracking Christmas baby names for girls and boys, the top 10 festive names of 2017 have been revealed.

As Christmas is the time Jesus was born, in the survey undertaken by Emma's Diary it came to light that festive and biblical names were the monikers most parents opted for this year.

The results discovered that 31% of the parents in the study named their daughter Ivy, with Holly (15%) and Noelle (14.3%) being the second and third most popular festive baby names this year.

Joseph was the most popular baby boy name, with Nicholas falling second and Matthew ranking third in the top 10 Christmas baby names.

Following the results, the Marketing Director at Emma's Diary, Fay Mingo has said, "As always, choosing the right name is an important decision for any parent and this year we can see that the season has had a definite impact on the choice of names with influences of the traditional and also trending names for this year."

It seems that parents are following in the footsteps of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West who named their son Saint, Beyonce and Jay-Z who called their daughter Blue Ivy and Luisa who gave her third daughter a gorgeous CHRISTMASSY name!
