63 Year old man assaulted in Arbroath

Police are appealing for information after the attack at the weekend.

On Saturday 23 December a 63 year old man was allegedly assaulted after trying to assist a man who appeared to be heavily under the influence of alcohol.

The victim was turned on by the man he was trying to help, but he was not seriously hurt at the junction of Antiquary Gardens and West Way, in Arbroath.

The 63 year old suffered facial injuries and was left badly shaken.

Police are describing the attacker as white, in his early 20s, about 5ft 8 and medium build, with mousy brown hair and beard, wearing a black zip-up jacket.
