A Tayside butcher has created the 'battle of the pies' ahead of Sunday's League Cup Final.

Alan Pirie has mixed blueberries with pork for his beloved St Johnstone while Livingston's meat treat has a spicier ingredient.

The Newtyle business owner said: It goes very well. It's a winning combination, we have 'champion' pork sausage meet which is a secret recipe we use."

Mr Pirie has won trophies himself for his Scotch pies, winning titles for the world's best in 2018 and 2020.

He's urging players to take the opportunity of silverware on Sunday with both hands.

"They need to make sure they enjoy themselves, and relax. If they take their chances then it could very well end in St Johnstone's favour, Im hoping for that," he added.
