Scottish football clubs will be allowed to welcome 2,000 fans to matches from July 19 - but must request permission if they want to host bigger crowds.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon gave an update on Tuesday afternoon where she announced the country will be moving into Level 0.

Clubs across the country will be allowed to let more fans into matches from Monday with Celtic taking on FC Midtjylland at Parkhead the following day.

They'll have 2,000 supporters at their friendly against Preston North End on Saturday, with arrangements still to be announced their their Champions League qualifier.

In a session in the Scottish Parliament, Sturgeon said: "While we are lifting some of the attendance restrictions around events - we are not taking an upper limit off, we are still being cautious.

"Any events organiser wanting to have a bigger event - such as we saw in the Euros recently - will have to go through a process of application so all that the mitigations can be properly assessed.

"Yes we want to get back to normal but we must do that in way that is proportional.
