Dundee United announce Thomas Courts as new boss

The 39-year-old replaces Micky Mellon who returned to Tranmere Rovers

Dundee United have confirmed Thomas Courts has stepped up from his role has head of tactical performance to land the manager's job at Tannadice.

The 39-year-old replaces Micky Mellon who returned to Tranmere Rovers, with Liam Fox arriving from Livingston as his assistant.

Courts joined the tangerines last year after a spell as manager of Fife side Kelty Hearts.

He coached the Under-18s squad at Tannadice for their first season in the CAS Under-18 Elite league and took charge of the team for 10 days last December when a number of first team staff were unavailable due to COVID-19.
