A vigil will be held in Dundee this weekend in memory of two dogs that were shot dead by Met police last month.

Marshall and Millions were killed as officers responded to reports of a woman being attacked by a dog in East London.

Social media footage - which has been viewed by millions - shows a man holding two dogs (Marshall and Millions) beside an East London canal before he was tasered and the dogs were shot.

A 46-year-old man has since been arrested and charged with being the owner of a dog dangerously out of control, and being in possession of a dog while disqualified from owning one.

The vigil in Dundee will take place in City Square on Sunday June 4.

Organiser, Suzanne Clark, is hoping as many people as possible can come along to pay their respects.

Vigils are planned to be held across the UK this weekend.

She told Tay FM: "It has affected the whole of the UK really badly.

"It's just a peaceful vigil to remember the dogs and to support their owner.

"It was pretty horrendous what unfolded".

She added that people are being advised not to bring their dogs to "avoid any incidents".

A petition which was launched following the incident has also gained more than a million signatures.
